During October 18-19, 2024, Mr. Apicha Insuwan, President of Payap University, led an administrative delegation, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Wallap Songprakun (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Patchara Boonteerarak (Dean of the International College), and Mr. Tawat Assawadecharit (Dean of the College of Music), on an official visit to Hauce Group in Hangzhou, China. Hauce Group is recognized as a global film and television industry leader, holding the top position worldwide for movie and TV production and being the No. 1 broadcaster in China across various networks and platforms. It also leads in export volume, international and domestic awards, and possesses China's most prominent film and television copyright libraries.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss a potential partnership aimed at establishing the Huace-Polus-PYU School of Creative Media in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This initiative will involve a collaboration between Payap University, Polus International College, and Hauce Group, co-developing a Bachelor of Arts program in Communication Arts as its first project. This program will be a foundation for future academic and cultural exchanges between Thailand and China, fostering deeper connections in the film and television industry.
The discussions were highly productive, laying the groundwork for what promises to be a dynamic partnership, further solidifying Thailand and China’s collaborative ties in the creative media space.
